How is My Payment Amount Calculated?

  • (VIDEO STREAMS) X (STREAMING RATE) = (TOTAL PAYOUT)
  • We pay you 100% of your video streams based on our Streaming Payout Calculation.

Let's break down the Streaming Payout Calculation: (VIDEO STREAMS) X (STREAMING RATE) = (TOTAL PAYOUT)

Example: 200,000 (VIDEO STREAMS) x $0.00050 (STREAMING RATE) = $100 (TOTAL PAYOUT)

  • What are Video Streams? 25% of the video is completed.
  • What is a Rate? The amount paid for each video stream completed. The current rate is  $0.00050.
  • What is Total Payout? The gross amount based on the total video streams and the current rate.

Quarterly Bonus: Receive an additional quarterly bonus payment added to the total payout for streams starting at 200,000.

Videos must hit the target 200,000 milestone before the close of each quarter to receive an additional ($1.50 per 1000 stream) payout.

How is the Quarterly Bonus Calculated?

  • (VIDEO STREAMS) X (MILESTONE RATE) ÷ (1000 STREAMS) = (TOTAL BONUS PAYOUT)
  • You are paid for a bonus payout in addition to the standard payout.

200,000 Streams = $100.00 (Standard Payout)

$1.50 per 1000 Streams = $300 (Bonus Payout)

$400 Total Quarterly Payout

We blur the lines between a distributor and aggregator since we're offering benefits to filmmakers that are non-traditional.

Our process is always evolving to create a rewarding relationship with filmmakers. For example, there aren't many or no aggregators in the industry that market your film when it's placed on third party platforms. This is a missing benefit we offer because it takes invested time and money to be successful in this crowded industry. We'll occasionally run paid promotions in combination with your marketing efforts to support your film. Overall, you're responsible for the marketing of your film, however we're here to help. We work on a non-exclusive basis with content owners.

We push to get all content streaming on Third Party platforms in combination with Popcorn Trailer as we grow our streaming service. The Third Party platforms (ie Tubi TV, Xumo, Pluto TV .etc) is what will ultimately increase your revenue. This opportunity provides a larger audience and increased viewership.

Popcorn Trailer - QC (quality control) automatically starts when we’ve received everything for your title. The process usually takes a week to 30 days to go live on popcorntrailer.com. We will email you when it passes QC, or if anything comes up. When your title passes QC, it becomes available in our the global marketplace. From there you'll be sent a link to your video page so you can promote it.

Third Party Platforms - If you choose to participate, we deliver a custom asset package to streaming services. We handle all of the leg work once you've provided the proper assets. Your title then gets processed by the streaming service. It usually takes another 2 - 3 weeks before it goes live. The selection process and time-frame varies and is out of our control. Anywhere from a few weeks to a few months is normal for a title selection period for platforms.

  • Popcorn Trailer can leverage our relationships to deliver your title to additional (AVOD) platforms Tubi TV, XUMO, Pluto TV, & Amazon Prime, if you meet the quality ingesting requirements.
  • Be sure your content has a great story, meets the minimum length, with quality production.

Note: We can't resubmit your project if it was previously denied. Duplicate submissions and rejections are not allowed. We'll receive the same rejection you were sent.

Short answer, no.

When you submit your film, we will review it and decide if the quality is align with our distribution standards for both Popcorn Trailer and third party platforms. We can't make a guarantee that your content will be selected by any third party publishers outside of Popcorn Trailer. It's an open marketplace, we don’t control if or when your title will be selected by a curated streaming service.

See Our Submission Policy

Popcorn Trailer Platforms - Typically after you submit your film it takes 30 - 60 days.

Third Party Platforms - Each streaming service has their own procedure and time-frame. Some take only a few days, but in most cases please expect anywhere from 4 to 12 weeks. On rare occasions of a QC fail/reject on the streaming services’ ends, we will first try to eliminate any issues first and redeliver. We will reach out to you if needed.
